How current is the legal information?
Every law card shows the law it is based on, a link to the source and the date we last verified it. When a law changes, we update the card and the date.
Methods and safety
What methods of abortion exist?
There are two methods, medication abortion with medicines and procedural abortion with a short procedure in a clinic. Which one fits depends on the stage of pregnancy, your health and what is legal and available, and you decide it with a doctor.

Cramping and bleeding are normal for some days. Very heavy bleeding, a fever that lasts, severe pain or feeling very unwell need urgent help. Our abortion aftercare guide lists the warning signs.
